Crew Planner / Logistics Planner required for national transport organisation

A diverse and challenging opportunity to work within a successful organisation; your primary objective will be to create efficient crew rosters that maximise crew utilisation whilst conducting regular audits to ensure processes and procedures are flexible and aligned to changing service plans.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • To plan and implement the resource plan for the crew meeting short and long term programme requirements.
  • To ensure optimum utilisation of train crew within the prescribed parameters of the Employment Conditions, Statutory Requirements and Industrial Agreements.
  • Maintain effective communication systems between the Crewing staff, Resource Planners, Field Operations Managers, Superintendents, Crew and other staff.
  • Ensure operational and administrative efficiencies, by continually monitoring crewing resource allocations and operational work practices to introduce or recommend improvements and reductions in operating expenditure.
  • Ensure that rostering plans provide for the maintenance of applicable qualifications relating to Road Knowledge, Traction Knowledge, competency assessments and safeworking recertification.
  • Maintain information databases relating to job allocation, leave, attendance and crew qualifications.
  • Provide regular reports and statistics to the Crewing Manager to ensure optimal individual and workforce performance.
  • Ensure effective communication with other divisions of the business so that efficient crewing contingencies are used.
  • Collate crewing information to ensure journals from within the business group and external customers are correct.
  • Ensure working rosters are developed that meet Fatigue Management guidelines.

You will possess:

  • Experience in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in Resource Allocation
  • Experience in collating information from Databases
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience in transport/logistics Desirable:
  • Experience in developing rosters
  • Experience and knowledge of working within Enterprise Agreements.
