Our client is well known for its Iconic brand when it comes to its main product range. It also has another product range within a similar sector that needs to be revitalised. If you know about Engine Management Systems you will know this brand name.
The product has existing channels of distribution to the Automotive Aftermarket predominantly through the major resellers to the workshops; the Brand has a good but ageing reputation, the current sales volume has fantastic room for growth if the product range is refreshed. This is a great opportunity to see immediate results for your efforts.
So that’s where you may fit in.
Your key responsibilities will be to:

Identify new business opportunities. -
Undertake competitor analysis and prepare business cases for management approval. -
Co-ordinate and manage new product development and new product programs -
Maintain and use the company’s Carparc database to identify new product groups and new part numbers. -
Analyse market potential for range and pricing. -
Source and manage suppliers from quotations to Engineering sign off, liaising with the extensive Engineering support available within the business. -
Maintain the Product catalogue.
What we expect your past experience and qualifications to look like.
As the existing Brand relates broadly to Engine Management Systems, a qualification of Auto Electrician and or experience and knowledge of Fuel Pumps, Electronic Fuel Injection Systems and overall Engine Management Systems will be a great advantage.
Previous Product management experience in the Automotive Aftermarket promoting products to Workshops through resellers such as Repco or Bursons would also be well regarded.
Tertiary Qualifications would also be an advantage, but you should certainly have a good understanding of product development, market analysis, commercial acumen and project / launch management.
